Candidate Quantity Surveyor

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Lephalale. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is in Lephalale (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line

• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor

• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel

• Study support for an honours degree
• Travel allowance for site visits
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
