Candidate Quantity Surveyor – Fixed-Term

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Pretoria East. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Pretoria East-based, with most of your time spent at a civils and earthworks contractor. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings

• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify

• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying

• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Travel allowance for site visits
• Study support for an honours degree

• List projects with their contract value and whether you worked for the client side or the contractor side.
