Carpenter (Roof Trusses & Ceilings)

Put your trade to work on the shopping centre extension in Epping, with steady work for the length of the project. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Location: Epping, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Tile floors, showers and splashbacks, including cutting around fittings
• Clean your tools and sweep your work area before knocking off
• Cut, bend and tie reinforcing steel to the bending schedule
• Carry bricks and materials to the workface and keep the scaffold clear
• Build and strip formwork for columns, beams and slabs

• Safety boots of your own for the first week, if possible
• Proven experience in at least one trade, shown by references or a practical test
• Willing to move between sites in the same city
• Punctual every morning, even in winter
• Physically strong enough for a full day of lifting and bending outside

• Transport from a pick-up point to site
• Chance to move up to a gang leader post
• PPE supplied: hard hat, gloves, reflective vest
• UIF and COIDA registration from day one

• Bring photos of your work on your phone. A foreman believes a straight wall more than a long CV.
• Be ready to do a short practical test on site. Arrive early with your own tools if you have them.
