Cashbook and Recon Clerk – Immediate Start

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a wholesale distributor in Atlantis. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a wholesale distributor on the Atlantis side of Western Cape.

• Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
• Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
• Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
• Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers

• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)

• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks
• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business

• Thirteenth cheque at many small firms
• Office hours with no weekend work
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams

• Recruiters often give a short Excel or recon test, so practise a bank recon before the interview.
• Say how far you take the books, for example "to trial balance" or "to management accounts"; it tells recruiters your level.
