CCTV Monitoring Officer (Night Roster)

You'll watch the screens and radios at an armed response control room in Sandton, and send help the moment something is wrong. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at an armed response control room in Sandton. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement

• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Matric
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone

• Speaking more than one local language
• CCTV operator short course

• Shift allowance for nights
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Training on the monitoring software

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
