Chiller Technician (Hospitals & Data Centres) – Immediate Start

Keep cold rooms cold and offices cool for the cold chain logistics company in Potchefstroom. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Potchefstroom, North West. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Check chiller log sheets and water treatment on building service visits
• Recover refrigerant into cylinders and log every kilogram used
• Clean coils, replace filters and check drain lines on scheduled services
• Respond to temperature alarms from cold rooms before stock is lost
• Complete service reports on a tablet and have the site manager sign them
• Install split units, cassettes and ducted systems, including brazing and vacuum work
• Diagnose faulty compressors, fans, contactors and control boards

• Comfortable on roofs and ladders in summer heat
• Brazing, flaring and vacuum skills you can demonstrate
• At least 2 years servicing commercial or residential systems
• Refrigeration and air-conditioning trade test or an NQF 4 occupational certificate

• CO2 transcritical refrigeration experience in retail stores
• Transport refrigeration units on trucks and trailers

• Company vehicle with a fitted tool rack
• Manufacturer training on new equipment ranges
• Standby pay for weekend fridge breakdowns
• Gauge manifold, vacuum pump and recovery unit issued to you

• Say which refrigerants and system types you have worked on. A recruiter for supermarket work wants to see CO2 or large rack systems.
• Your SAQCC Gas card must be current. Put the expiry date on your CV so nobody has to ask.
