Job Description

Clean really matters at a day surgery clinic in Johannesburg CBD; here it stops infections spreading. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a day surgery clinic on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng.

What you'll actually do

Handle and bag medical waste in the right coloured bins
Wear gowns, masks and gloves as each room requires
Do terminal cleans of isolation rooms after a patient is discharged
Clean theatres between operations to the hospital's turnaround times
Take soiled linen to the sluice room and bring clean linen back
Move patients' belongings and equipment when rooms change

What you need

Not squeamish about blood, vomit or medical waste
Up to date with vaccinations the hospital requires, such as hepatitis B
Matric or Grade 11
Calm under pressure in busy wards
Able to work shifts including weekends and night duty
