Clinic Cleaner (Day Shift)

Clean really matters at a day surgery clinic in Centurion; here it stops infections spreading. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll report in Centurion. Relocation is not covered for this one. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Fill in cleaning logs so infection control can audit the ward
• Take soiled linen to the sluice room and bring clean linen back
• Clean patient rooms using colour-coded cloths and mops for each area
• Disinfect bed rails, call bells and bedside lockers
• Wear gowns, masks and gloves as each room requires

• Respectful and discreet around patients
• Able to work shifts including weekends and night duty
• Calm under pressure in busy wards
• Matric or Grade 11
• Not squeamish about blood, vomit or medical waste

• Experience as a porter or general assistant in healthcare
• An infection prevention and control short course

• Meal on shift at the staff canteen
• On-the-job infection control training
• Shift allowances for nights and Sundays
