Clinic Cleaner (Day Shift)

Careful, trained cleaners are wanted at a private hospital in Pinetown. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

• Clean theatres between operations to the hospital's turnaround times
• Do terminal cleans of isolation rooms after a patient is discharged
• Move patients' belongings and equipment when rooms change
• Disinfect bed rails, call bells and bedside lockers
• Fill in cleaning logs so infection control can audit the ward
• Take soiled linen to the sluice room and bring clean linen back

• Able to work shifts including weekends and night duty
• Up to date with vaccinations the hospital requires, such as hepatitis B
• Not squeamish about blood, vomit or medical waste
• Respectful and discreet around patients
• Willing to follow strict infection control steps every time
• Matric or Grade 11

• Previous hospital or clinic cleaning experience
• An infection prevention and control short course
• Experience as a porter or general assistant in healthcare

• Meal on shift at the staff canteen
