Job Description

You'll help a private hospital dispensary in Tzaneen dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is in Tzaneen (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves

Must-haves

Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software

Nice if you have

Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
Wound care or family planning counselling short course
Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic
