Clinical Coder (ICD-10)

You'll keep the front of a radiology group in Klerksdorp organised so the doctors can focus on patients. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The work is in Klerksdorp, North West, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Submit claims electronically and work through the rejection report daily
• Send monthly statements and age the debtors book
• Check medical aid membership and benefits before each consultation
• Keep patient records locked and share them only with written consent
• Open patient files and capture consent forms in line with POPIA
• Answer the phones and send clinical questions to the right nurse or doctor

• Confident with Excel and email
• Experience on a practice system such as GoodX, Elixir, Medinol or Healthbridge
• You keep patient information private, every time
• Sound knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical aid tariff codes

• Bookkeeping basics or Pastel knowledge for practice accounts
• Worked for a specialist discipline such as radiology, anaesthesia or orthopaedics
• Medical terminology or clinical coding certificate

• Keep your cover note short and error-free; front desk jobs are judged on how neatly you communicate.
• Give numbers if you can, such as your rejection rate or how much you cut the 90-day debtors.
