Cloud Engineer (AWS)

You'll keep servers, networks and cloud services up and secure for a manufacturing group with several sites in Pretoria West. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a manufacturing group with several sites on the Pretoria West side of Gauteng. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Apply monthly patches to servers and network devices
• Work with ISPs on link faults and fibre installs
• Monitor servers, links and firewalls and act on alerts
• Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance
• Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures
• Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins

• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
• Clear change management and documentation habits
• Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
• At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
• Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance

• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel or Wazuh

• Standby allowance and overtime for maintenance windows
