Job Description

Passengers in Secunda trust a mine shift transport service to get them there safely, and that trust is on your shoulders. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Secunda-based, with most of your time spent at a mine shift transport service. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Inspect the bus before each trip: tyres, brakes, doors, emergency exits
Keep the bus clean inside and report any damage
Write the trip log with times, kilometres and fuel
Count passengers and make sure nobody stands beyond the limit
Pick up and drop off schoolchildren only at approved points
Follow speed limits strictly; buses are tracked
Handle breakdowns calmly and keep passengers safe until help arrives

You'll need

Medically fit
Valid PrDP for passengers (P)
Patient and friendly with passengers
At least 3 years of bus or taxi driving
Clean driving and criminal record
Valid Code 10 or Code 14 licence
