Job Description

Drive, deliver, get the signature, next stop: this is route work for a building-supplies merchant in Klerksdorp. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Klerksdorp-based, with most of your time spent at a building-supplies merchant. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

The work, day to day

Get signed invoices back to the office at the end of each day
Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
Report damaged goods or refused deliveries straight away
Check the load against invoices before signing it out
Collect cash or cheques on COD deliveries and bank them correctly
Keep empties and returns separate for credit
Manage your assistant on the truck and share the offloading

You'll need

Friendly and professional with customers
Clean driving record
Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
Valid PrDP for goods (G)
At least 2 years driving rigid trucks
Honest with cash and customer goods

Nice if you have

Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
Code 14 licence (a step up)
Speaking local languages on township routes
