Apply for this job

Job Description

Home every night: a furniture retailer in eMalahleni needs a steady Code 10 driver for daily routes. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is in eMalahleni (Mpumalanga). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning
Manage your assistant on the truck and share the offloading
Keep empties and returns separate for credit
Check the truck's oil, water, tyres and lights before leaving
Collect cash or cheques on COD deliveries and bank them correctly
Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route

What you need

Clean driving record
Honest with cash and customer goods
Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
Good knowledge of roads in and around the city
Friendly and professional with customers

Nice if you have

Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
Speaking local languages on township routes
Code 14 licence (a step up)

On offer

Overtime on month-end and peak days
Delivery incentive per completed route
Company-paid PrDP renewals
Home every night

How to apply

Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): ID copy and proof of residence, Code 10 licence and PrDP card copies plus references from delivery or distribution jobs.
Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 7 working days.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around eMalahleni; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Tips to get shortlisted

Name the areas you know well. A driver who already knows the route saves the company money from day one.
If your PrDP expires soon, renew it before applying. An expired PrDP is an automatic no.
