Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a coal haulage contractor in Bethlehem is hiring. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is in Bethlehem (Free State). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What you'll actually do

Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

What you need

Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Passport for cross-border routes
Medically fit, including eyesight
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Clean driving record with no serious accidents

Extra points for

Clean record on a telematics driving score
Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Knowledge of SADC border routes
