Code 14 Car Carrier Driver – Experienced

You'll move heavy loads between Ermelo and depots across the country for a coal haulage contractor. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll report in Ermelo. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
• Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
• Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
• Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
• Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
• Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped

• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
• Clean driving record with no serious accidents
• Passport for cross-border routes

• Dangerous goods training certificate
• Clean record on a telematics driving score

• Provident fund and medical aid option
• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips
• Paid PrDP renewal
• Monthly safe-driving and fuel-saving bonus

• Be honest about accidents or fines. Companies check your driving record anyway and trust drivers who tell them upfront.
• List the trailer types and routes you have done, for example "tautliner, JHB to Durban, 4 years".
