Code 14 Car Carrier Driver – Fixed-Term

You'll move heavy loads between Pretoria West and depots across the country for a fuel distribution fleet. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a fuel distribution fleet on the Pretoria West side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
• Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
• Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
• Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
• Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
• Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
• Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks

• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
• Medically fit, including eyesight

• Knowledge of SADC border routes
• Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)

• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips
• Well-maintained trucks with sleeper cabs
• Paid PrDP renewal
• Provident fund and medical aid option

• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
• Put your licence code, PrDP expiry date and years on Code 14 in the first three lines. Transport managers scan for those first.
