Job Description

The road is your office with a cross-border transport company based in Johannesburg CBD, and the load gets there because of you. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip

Must-haves

Passport for cross-border routes
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Clean criminal record
