Job Description

You'll move heavy loads between Midrand and depots across the country for a fuel distribution fleet. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

The work is in Midrand, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

The work, day to day

Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips

Must-haves

Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Passport for cross-border routes

Nice if you have

Knowledge of SADC border routes
Defensive driving course
