Job Description

You'll move heavy loads between Middelburg (MP) and depots across the country for a coal haulage contractor. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Middelburg (MP), Mpumalanga. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads

You'll need

Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
