Code 14 Interlink Driver (Cross-Border)

The road is your office with a cross-border transport company based in Pinetown, and the load gets there because of you. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a cross-border transport company on the Pinetown side of KwaZulu-Natal. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
• Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
• Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
• Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
• Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
• Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
• Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip

• Medically fit, including eyesight
• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Passport for cross-border routes
• Clean criminal record
• Valid Code 14 (EC) licence

• Knowledge of SADC border routes
• Defensive driving course
• Dangerous goods training certificate

• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips

• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
• Be honest about accidents or fines. Companies check your driving record anyway and trust drivers who tell them upfront.
