Code 14 Interlink Driver (Cross-Border)

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a coal haulage contractor in Upington pays for. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Upington, Northern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
• Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
• Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
• Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
• Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
• Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date

• Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
• Clean criminal record
• Passport for cross-border routes
• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)

• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
