Code 14 Side Tipper Driver (Coal Haulage)

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a coal haulage contractor in Pinetown is hiring. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Location: Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
• Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
• Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
• Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
• Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
• Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
• Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips

• Clean criminal record
• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• Clean driving record with no serious accidents
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
• Passport for cross-border routes

• Clean record on a telematics driving score
• Knowledge of SADC border routes
• Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)

• Paid PrDP renewal
• Provident fund and medical aid option
• Well-maintained trucks with sleeper cabs
• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips

• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
• List the trailer types and routes you have done, for example "tautliner, JHB to Durban, 4 years".
