Job Description

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a coal haulage contractor in Richards Bay pays for. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a coal haulage contractor on the Richards Bay side of KwaZulu-Natal.

What your day looks like

Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip

Must-haves

Passport for cross-border routes
Clean criminal record
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks

Helpful, not essential

Knowledge of SADC border routes
Clean record on a telematics driving score
