Job Description

Packing season at an export fruit packhouse near East London means lots of shifts and lots of work. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in East London, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run

You'll need

Basic counting and reading for labels
Valid ID or permit
Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
Arrives on time for early shifts
Quick and neat with your hands
Able to stand at a line for long shifts

Forklift licence for palletising roles
Previous packhouse work
