Cold Room Assistant (Fruit Export)

You'll sort, grade and pack fruit for export at a table grape packhouse near eMalahleni. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a table grape packhouse in eMalahleni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
• Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
• Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
• Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
• Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery

• Valid ID or permit
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts
• Basic counting and reading for labels
• Follows hygiene rules at all times

• Forklift licence for palletising roles
• Previous packhouse work

• Overtime pay during peak weeks
• Transport from nearby towns
• Rehire for next season if you perform well

• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
• Mention the fruit you have packed before and how many seasons. Packhouses rehire the fast, careful packers.
