Cold Room Assistant (Fruit Export) – Permanent

Packing season at a table grape packhouse near Ermelo means lots of shifts and lots of work. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The work is in Ermelo, Mpumalanga, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
• Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
• Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day
• Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
• Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
• Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves

• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts
• Valid ID or permit
• Basic counting and reading for labels
• Quick and neat with your hands
• Arrives on time for early shifts

• Knowledge of export standards like GLOBALG.A.P.
• Previous packhouse work

• Rehire for next season if you perform well
• Overtime pay during peak weeks
• Transport from nearby towns
• Protective clothing supplied

• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
