Job Description

Packing season at an export fruit packhouse near Khayelitsha means lots of shifts and lots of work. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Khayelitsha (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves

You'll need

Arrives on time for early shifts
Basic counting and reading for labels
Valid ID or permit
Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
Follows hygiene rules at all times
