Job Description

Packing season at a berry packing facility near Middelburg (MP) means lots of shifts and lots of work. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Middelburg (MP) (Mpumalanga). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What your day looks like

Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day
Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves

You'll need

Valid ID or permit
Arrives on time for early shifts
Basic counting and reading for labels
Follows hygiene rules at all times
Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
Quick and neat with your hands

Helpful, not essential

Previous packhouse work
Knowledge of export standards like GLOBALG.A.P.
Matric for QC posts
