Cold Room Assistant (Fruit Export)

Fruit from a berry packing facility near Worcester ends up on shelves overseas, packed by your hands. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Worcester. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
• Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
• Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run
• Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
• Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves
• Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
• Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet

• Arrives on time for early shifts
• Basic counting and reading for labels
• Valid ID or permit
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts
• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Available for the full packing season including Saturdays

• Matric for QC posts
• Previous packhouse work

• Overtime pay during peak weeks
• Protective clothing supplied
• Transport from nearby towns
• Rehire for next season if you perform well

• Apply before the season starts, often a month before first harvest. Recruiting days fill up fast.
• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
