Collections Agent (Early Arrears)

You'll phone customers who have fallen behind and agree payment plans they can actually keep. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Worcester (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.
• Answer disputes about balances, interest and fees with a printed statement.
• Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.
• Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.
• Update debtor contact details from tracing searches.
• Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.

• At least 6 months in collections, sales or a call centre
• You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
• Target-driven and comfortable with commission
• Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations
• Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors

• Monthly incentives for the top three collectors
• Structured weekday hours with only occasional Saturdays
• Council for Debt Collectors registration paid for you
• Uncapped monthly commission on collected rands

• If you are already registered with the Council for Debt Collectors, put your registration number near the top of your CV.
• Show your collection results as numbers (for example "collected R420 000 a month against a R350 000 target").
