Collections Paralegal (Debt Recovery)

Draft, file, track and follow up: that's your week at a debt collection practice in Ballito. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Ballito. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Keep personal information in files secure under POPIA
• Type and format letters, notices and affidavits from dictation or drafts
• Open new matters and do conflict checks on the practice system
• Diarise court dates, prescription dates and filing deadlines
• Manage the attorney's diary and book consultations

• Organised under pressure from several attorneys
• Understanding of court rules and deadlines
• At least 2 years in a law firm or legal department
• Experience on legal software such as LegalSuite, AJS or GhostPractice
• Discreet with confidential client information
• Fast, accurate typing and strong Word formatting

• Audio typing at 60+ words per minute
• Paralegal diploma or LLB studies in progress
• NCR debt counsellor course

• Year-end bonus at many firms
• Study assistance for LLB or paralegal courses
• Close-to-transport offices in city centres
