Job Description

If you know tractors, a maize and soya farm near Harrismith has steady work for you. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Check oil, water, tyres and grease points before starting
Mix and apply sprays exactly as the farm manager prescribes
Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed
Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely
Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers

You'll need

Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
Available to live on or near the farm
Reliable and sober on duty
Willing to work long hours in planting and harvest seasons

On offer

Training on new machinery
Harvest bonus at season end
Overtime paid during planting and harvest

How to apply

Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): ID copy and any driver's licence you hold, tractor or spray course certificates plus a farmer's reference letter with phone number.
Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 5 working days.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around Harrismith; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

How to stand out

Mention GPS or auto-steer if you have used it. Modern grain farms struggle to find operators who know it.
A reference from a previous farmer is gold. Ask for it before you leave any farm job.
