Commercial Electrician (Shopfitting & Retail)

You'll wire, fault-find and certify installations for the solar and backup power installer in Komani. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a solar and backup power installer on the Komani side of Eastern Cape. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
• Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations

• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Company bakkie for call-outs and travel between sites
• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster

• If you have issued CoCs before, say how many and for what type of property.
