Commercial Plumber (New Builds)

Know your way around SANS 10254 and a geyser drip tray? The commercial building contractor in Springs wants to hear from you. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Location: Springs, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Install and repair soil and waste pipes to SANS 10400 Part P
• Service booster pumps, pressure tanks and water storage tanks
• Issue plumbing Certificates of Compliance for completed installations
• Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254
• Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job

• Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
• Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
• At least 3 years as a qualified plumber, including geyser replacements
• PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
• Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
• Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs

• Drain camera and high-pressure jetting experience
• SAQCC Gas registration for LPG installations

• Paid PIRB renewal fee
• Fully stocked service van with a fuel card
• Call-out bonus for every after-hours job you complete

• Put your PIRB number at the top of your CV. Insurance contractors check it before they read anything else.
• Mention how many geyser replacements you do in a normal month. It is the number most plumbing managers ask about.
