Job Description

Service is busy at this casual dining restaurant in Brakpan, so steady hands and a tidy station matter here. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a casual dining restaurant on the Brakpan side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Help cost recipes and track waste on the weekly sheet.
Cook steaks, burgers and grills to the temperature on the docket.
Log fridge and freezer temperatures twice a shift on the HACCP sheet.
Run your station during service and call back every ticket from the pass.
Cook for banquets and conference lunches of 100 to 400 guests.
Receive deliveries, check weights and reject short-dated produce.

Must-haves

You know food safety basics under R638 and HACCP
Comfortable in heat, on your feet, for long split shifts
You take instruction from the head chef without drama
1 to 3 years in a busy commercial kitchen
A culinary certificate or City & Guilds, or solid on-the-job experience
Weekend, holiday and evening work is part of the deal
