Job Description

You'll cook fast, clean food on the line at a conference centre kitchen in Centurion. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a conference centre kitchen in Centurion. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Clean down your section, deep-clean the fryer and scrub the extractor filters.
Prep veg, sauces, marinades and portions from the daily mise en place list.
Log fridge and freezer temperatures twice a shift on the HACCP sheet.
Label, date and rotate stock using first-in, first-out.
Plate to the spec photo so every dish looks the same.

What you need

Weekend, holiday and evening work is part of the deal
You know food safety basics under R638 and HACCP
You take instruction from the head chef without drama
Comfortable in heat, on your feet, for long split shifts

Extra points for

Stock and ordering experience on a system such as Micros or Pilot
A food safety certificate from a registered training provider
Halaal or kosher kitchen experience
