Job Description

Every parcel scanned, every drop confirmed: that is the job at an engineering firm in Johannesburg CBD. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Johannesburg CBD-based, with most of your time spent at an engineering firm. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What you'll actually do

Collect spares and parts from suppliers and bring them to the workshop
Phone customers when the address is hard to find
Keep your vehicle or bike clean and report faults
Load parcels in route order from the depot scanning area
Follow the delivery app for route and stop order
Return undelivered parcels to the depot with a reason code
Fill up the vehicle and keep fuel slips for the logbook

You'll need

Good sense of direction and map reading
Smartphone and comfortable using delivery apps
Polite with customers at the door
Able to work Saturdays
At least 1 year of driving experience
Valid Code 8 (B) licence, or A licence for motorbike roles

Helpful, not essential

Your own reliable bakkie or bike for owner-driver contracts
Knowledge of the city's industrial areas
