Construction General Worker (Building Site) – Entry Level

Strong, willing hands are wanted on a townhouse construction site in Bethlehem. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a townhouse construction site in Bethlehem. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
• Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed
• Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
• Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
• Clear rubble and load it into skips
• Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches

• Prepared to travel between sites in the area
• Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
• Willing to start early, often at 06:30
• Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather

• A working-at-heights or scaffolding ticket
• Some experience with a jackhammer, grinder or plate compactor

• Learn from artisans with a chance to move up to assistant
• Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
• Paid weekly or fortnightly
• Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days

• List past sites by name and what you did there, like "mixed concrete, laid kerbs". It proves you have done real site work.
• If a foreman can vouch for you, put their number on your CV. Site hiring runs on word of mouth.
