Job Description

Every wall and slab on this shopping centre renovation in Krugersdorp needs labourers, and the crew needs one more. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Krugersdorp (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Clear rubble and load it into skips
Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed
Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
Dig trenches and foundations to the depth the foreman marks

What you need

You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
A clean record is preferred for some government sites
Willing to start early, often at 06:30
Prepared to travel between sites in the area

Helpful, not essential

Registered on your ward or municipal job-seeker database
Living near the site (many projects hire local labour)
