Construction Health and Safety Officer (SACPCMP)

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this high-rise residential project in Brakpan needs someone who can do all three well. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Location: Brakpan, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height

• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer

• Fall protection planner training
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects
• ISO 45001 internal auditor course

• Travel and site allowances
• Laptop and data for reporting
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD

• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
