Construction Health and Safety Officer (SACPCMP) – Permanent

The high-rise residential project in Gqeberha needs a safety officer who is on the site, not stuck in the container office. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a high-rise residential project in Gqeberha. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily

• You write clear reports in English
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• First Aid Level 1 at least

• Diploma in Safety Management
• ISO 45001 internal auditor course
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects

• Travel and site allowances
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Laptop and data for reporting

• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
