Construction Worker (Bricklaying Assistant) – Entry Level

Put your trade to work on the low-cost housing project in Randburg, with steady work for the length of the project. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

• Mix mortar and plaster to the right ratio for the job
• Tile floors, showers and splashbacks, including cutting around fittings
• Plaster walls and float them to a smooth, even finish
• Fix roof trusses, purlins and brandering for ceilings
• Lay face brick and plaster brick to line, level and plumb

• Safety boots of your own for the first week, if possible
• Willing to move between sites in the same city
• Proven experience in at least one trade, shown by references or a practical test
• Physically strong enough for a full day of lifting and bending outside

• Weekly or fortnightly pay, always on time
• PPE supplied: hard hat, gloves, reflective vest
• UIF and COIDA registration from day one

• Bring photos of your work on your phone. A foreman believes a straight wall more than a long CV.
• Be ready to do a short practical test on site. Arrive early with your own tools if you have them.
