Job Description

If you run a machine safely and hit your cycle times, this open-pit manganese mine near Tzaneen will keep you busy. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is in Tzaneen (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Haul ore and waste on the haul road loop to the crusher or dump
Drill blast holes to the plan depth and angle marked by the survey team
Load, haul and tip with the LHD from draw points to the ore pass
Log loads, cycle times and machine hours on the onboard system or sheet
Push and level material on dumps and stockpiles with the dozer
Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required

You'll need

Clear understanding of the TMM regulations under Chapter 8 of the MHSA regulations
Code 10 or Code 14 driver's licence
At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
Valid operator certificate for the specific machine, from an MQA-accredited provider

Extra points for

Experience with ultra-class haul trucks
