Job Description

The quantity surveying practice in Centurion needs a QS who can price a tender and still defend a final account. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a quantity surveying practice on the Centurion side of Gauteng. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
Prepare the final account at the end of the project
Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line

You'll need

Code 08 licence for site visits
Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses

Extra points for

Estimating software experience on top of Excel
Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
