Job Description

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Rustenburg. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a shopfitting company on the Rustenburg side of North West. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates

Must-haves

Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
Code 08 licence for site visits
Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work

Helpful, not essential

Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
