Contracts Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Builds)

You'll measure, price and manage the money on building projects for the shopfitting company in Umlazi. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The work is in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions

• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables

• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Study support for an honours degree

• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
