Contracts Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Builds)

You'll be based at a main building contractor in Vereeniging. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions

• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
