Control and Instrumentation Engineer

You'll design, protect and maintain electrical systems for the manufacturing plant in Brits. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Brits-based, with most of your time spent at a manufacturing plant. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
• Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
• Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
• Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
• Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms

• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package

• Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
• Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)

• Clear path to associate or senior engineer
• Paid professional registration and training
• Flexible hours on design days
• Vehicle allowance for site work
